Takunda’s Story
Takunda works as a Healthcare Assistant in Weston-super-Mare and has been nominated for consistently going above and beyond the extra mile for his colleagues and patients.
He knows first-hand the challenges of relocating to the UK and has quickly established himself as a person always willing to lend a hand – whether that’s helping his colleagues move house or covering for a sick colleague at work.

Get to know Takunda
Q: When did you realise that a career in healthcare was right for you? Was there a particular moment in your life?
A: I didn’t realise my passion for healthcare until I started doing the job! Before that, I wasn’t sure if I could do it.
Q: What was your journey like in securing a role through WESolutions?
A: The WESolutions team was fantastic in helping me secure my new role. They were on the ball right from the start and were quick, efficient, and very helpful! They were also very empathetic and understanding of my needs.
Q: What advice would you give to young people considering a career in nursing?
A: I will advise young people to consider healthcare if they love working with people, and seeing their lives improve. It’s an extremely rewarding career path, not just financially but also very much in terms of finding one’s purpose and calling.
Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
A: The power to heal. I have seen so many people who are unwell in my lifetime, and my desire is always to see them whole.
