Paediatric nursing 

A paediatric nurse is someone who works with kids of all ages who suffer with many different conditions, you will be consequently doing nursing activities for example blood pressure, monitoring temperature and recording results. You will be prescribing medication or intravenous methods, you will be helping doctors with patient examinations and tests, prepping patient for surgical procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining patient medical records and making your research is up to date

To be a paediatric nurse you must have theses skills such as communication as you will be relaying information to the doctors and patient, knowing how to communicate with the children and the patient’s parents.  You will need communication skills to communicate with parents or patients if they are worried or scared, critical thinking as you will be assessing the patient’s health as well as looking for any changes in symptoms, organisational skills so you are organised and know who your patients are and their medical records.

Please make sure you at least have 6 months experience, a current NMC number and the right to work in the UK.
